After lots of research and learning, me and my husband decided to go ahead with the low carb high fat diet(LCHF). We are not going for keto diet and we don’t look at numbers but just the macro. We will focus on cutting out refined and processed carbohydrate and we will include bulletproof coffee, more green leafy vegetables and quality oil in our diet.
I have been studying LCHF recipes these days and realized that one doesn’t have to suffer on such a diet, there are many tasty recipes actually. Besides I love to cook and create things I’m sure we will be fine, even joyful, on this journey.
Making this decision public can be a double-edged sword. Hopefully we can stick to what we started and persevere for at least a month. I will document our meals every day, perhaps the updates won’t be daily but I will surely keep track of our food. If you are on LCHF diet, welcome to post your food profile in the comment section.
Learning how to eat healthily is a lifelong task, sometimes we feel like indulging ourselves a bit while sometimes we are concerned about our health. We are frequently overwhelmed by too much information on healthy eating on social media, TV programs and in publications. We see experts everywhere and new articles backed by some research on some certain food all the time. At the end of the day, we are the ones that have to make an executive decision when it comes to putting food into our mouths. My mantra is “learn the facts, understand the science and eat the way you’re comfortable with.” Simple enough.
I feel like diets are like relationships, there is no such thing as right and wrong; it’s all about compatibility. Personalities are to a relationship as individual differences are to a diet. We have to listen to our bodies and souls. We can’t force it but we can always try harder.
